As part of the vibrant activities of JUKANYE FESTIVAL 2026, we will present Special Recognition Awards to honor individuals and groups who have significantly contributed to Africa’s liberation journey, cultural identity, and patriotic legacy. These awards include:

 

These awards reflect the mission of JUKANYE Festival: to preserve our history, celebrate our heroes, and inspire future generations through remembrance, recognition, and cultural pride.

 

Liberation Award: for African Freedom Fighters Honoring African leaders who led and sacrificed for the independence and unity of their nations.

Mama Africa Award: for Women in Liberation and Legacy Celebrating outstanding women who contributed to Africa’s freedom and shaped its post-independence progress.

Wisdom Award for Religious Leaders: Recognizing faith leaders who inspired courage, peace, and moral integrity during and after the liberation struggles.

 

 

Honorary Award: for Contemporary African Patriotic Leaders

Acknowledging current African leaders championing unity, Pan-Africanism, and development across the continent.

 

Global Solidarity Award for Non-African Countries that Supported Africa’s Liberation
To honor countries outside Africa—such as Russia, China, and Cuba—that offered political, financial, or military support to African liberation movements.

Tuzo ya Hekima ya Ukombozi inatambua kuwa si silaha tu zilizopigania uhuru wa Afrika, bali pia hekima ya kiroho, maadili na msimamo wa viongozi wa dini waliokuwa mstari wa mbele katika ukombozi wa kiroho, kijamii na kisiasa wa bara hili. Pumzika kwa amani, historia ya Afrika Imeandikwa, utaendelea kukumbukwa.
